Place Vendôme meets Chanel and Givenchy for Couture Fall 2011

Place Vendôme by Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into a fairytale version of Place Vendôme and invited his guests into a new version of Metropolis (the 1927 science-fiction movie directed by Fritz Lang) at a rare night time…
The looks were black, colors were shy, tweed was definitively present, tailoring was close to the body and knees were hidden.
This collection was the perfect representation of the Parisian chic, very Coco but with Karl’s gothic touch.
The set was living through Michel Gaubert's soundtrack and dressed-up by a rain of glitters
Peter Philips, the make-up director, made an incredible work and dressed the models with deep grey smoky eyes hidden by a delicate embroidered veil.
This show was magical, full of drama and beauty « à la Karl Lagerfeld ».

The Angels Of Riccardo Tisci.

A wind of virginity blew on Givenchy’s collection at the hotel d’Evreux Place Vendôme.
Ricardo Tisci focussed his work on purity, lightness and fragility.
He presented a subtil mix of embroidery and audacious transparency signed by his famous oversized plastic zippers. It was a real demonstration of the hard work that Haute Couture demands.
His presentation was poectic and mesmerizing and proved us the designer’s unique vision of couture.
