Rendez-Vous with Hussein Chalayan

This week end I saw a wonderful exhibition at the Museum of the Arts Decoratifs on Hussein Chalayan! What an amazing fashion creator. He is one of the most creative people of his period, a real innovator and precursor. He’s not just a stylist that makes collections one after another. He goes further, with a highly conceptual approach that translates into collections with a truly artistic depth. He is always at the boundaries of design, fashion and architecture with social, cultural, historical or political references. We can feel them in his creations. The influence of other forms of creativity is very present and everything works perfectly. During his fashion show Hussein Chalayan likes using light, sound and pictures. The scenography is very elegant and complete the show. Bodies, voices, music, everything is done around the creator message and his vision! This exhibition is a perfect example that fashion and art are very connected! Hussein Chalyan clothes are real pieces of art!
